BIOGRAPHY Saloon artist Jill DeGroff, author of "Lush Life; Portraits from the Bar" has painted hundreds of portraits of bartenders, musicians, writers, artists, chefs, gypsies, and other colorful characters she encounters in bars around the world. Drawing inspiration from the dark world of Otto Dix's Weimar Republic, along with contemporary masters like Al Hirschfeld, Art Spiegelman, and others, her soulful renditions pulsate with passion and character. Jill has had the privilege of pursuing her art among the culinary industry's most seasoned experts and so her work has captured an international following in the bar business. She is also a co-founder of The Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans.
