

Master Mixologist Dale DeGroff, aka King Cocktail, developed his extraordinary techniques and talent tending bar at great establishments, most notably New York's famous Rainbow Room, where he pioneered a gourmet approach to recreating the great classic cocktails. DeGroff has been credited with reinventing the profession of bartending in the late 1980's, setting off a cocktail explosion that continues to this day.
Author of "The Essential Cocktail" and
"The Craft of the Cocktail" (Random House Books),
and winner of: the 2009 James Beard Award, 2009 Nightclub & Bar Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award, TOC Helen David Award, Cheers Innovator Award, DeGroff has also appeared on Rachel Maddow, Anthony Bourdain, Bobby Flay, Martha Stewart, B Smith, and others.
Most recently, Dale rolled out an original performance piece called- "ON THE TOWN; A Tribute to Bars, Speaks, and Legendary Saloons" After four sold out performances in New York and Washington DC, he is now touring it around the country.
Dale is a partner in the award-winning training program, Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR), providing training and credentialing in distilled spirits and mixology. He is also the founding president of The Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans.
