Master Mixologist Dale DeGroff, aka King Cocktail, developed his extraordinary techniques and talent tending bar at great establishments, most notably New York's famous Rainbow Room, where in the '80's, he pioneered a gourmet approach to recreating the great classic cocktails. Winner of the James Beard Award for Wine & Spirits and author of The Essential Cocktail and The Craft of the Cocktail (Random House), DeGroff's enormous influence in the bar world has spanned three decades. He is also a partner in the award-winning bar training program, Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR) and founding president of the Museum of the American Cocktail.
Two years ago, Dale partnered with renowned absinthe distiller Ted Breaux to developed his own brand of aromatic cocktail bitters. He is now hosting a seminar of comparative tastings of aromatic bitters around the country called:
"I'll Take Manhattans."
Saloon singing and storytelling is another passion of Dale's; his highly entertaining one man show: ON THE TOWN; Bars, Speaks, & Legendary Saloons has been performed in dozens of cities around the country and overseas.
